John Stagliano grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in the 60's. He graduated from high school in 1969. His major in college was economics. In 1972 John transferred to UCLA, because they had a very good economics department. He did not even know that Hollywood was in Los Angeles. He never thought he had any talent for performing or creating any kind of art. His goal was to get a Ph.D. and become a professor. The problem with this was that there were very few women in the economics department. He had seen modern dancers and ballet dancers on TV and in performance. So at UCLA, he took as many modern dance classes as he could, always trying to position him self behind the girl with the best butt, and sneaking peeks at her when she would bend over and stretch. His best was a Dracula routine with chains and leather underneath the tux. In 1982, he had just turned 30 and he wanted to do a little more with his life, so he started publishing a little porno magazine on newsprint. He had been exposed to the porno business in the 70's when he answered an ad at the UCLA placement center looking for models. Of course they were really looking for girls, but he met the agent and he was also editor of a porn newspaper. He told him that he liked to write, so he wrote a porno story for the paper. After that he sent John out on little softcore modeling jobs which he wrote stories about. He did his first hardcore movie in 1974. It was a little 8mm loop. In the 70's John did a few movies while he also did dance jobs and worked part time for market research companies using his economics background. he was never a "big" star, literally and figuratively if you know what he mean. Anyway back to 1982. He wrote the stories and bought used pictures of the newsprint magazine. He did 3 issues called HEAT, two called ANGEL, and one called Hot Slut Orgies. He found that he really loved creating porno. In 1983, people were just starting to produce porno movies on video tape, because the VCR was just beginning to be sold. A porno on video can be produced for as little as $5,000 dollars. (John spent $8,000 on his first video) Before this porn was shot on film with is a lot harder to work with and a regular film would cost a minimum of $40,000. So he heard about these videos and he was in the right place with some of the right skills to produce them. Stagliano knew nothing about film making but he was bursting with ideas about how to make better porn films because most of them were so bad. But more than that he was the right person to make porn because He have always been a huge porn. Starting with jerking off to pictures of Raquel Welch in a bikini in Pagent magazine in 1966. John would come during the 8th grade and locked himself in the bathroom and jerk off everyday! He could not get enough porn. Anyway back to 1983, his first video was BOUNCING BUNS, starring Stacy Donovan. She was a very nasty girl and John suggested that she call herself Evil Angel. She did not, but he loved the name and wound up using it for his company. A note from John Stagliano:
Before we begin I must confess, I said bad things about the Internet. It was years ago. I hated the quality. I did not understand its value through ease of access to porn. And now the quality is great. Can you forgive me?
We recently launched the redesign of Buttman. I have realized that I must be there on the site, active myself, interacting with members and striving to make the site something more then a corporate vehicle for me to make some extra money. I have been on the site for the last two months. I have realized that what my site will never be is a niche site about big ass.
That is not what I want to shoot. I would rather explore sexuality and my arousal from ass in different ways than just trying to find another big ass girl to shoot that week. Buttman is now being updated with new scenes that I am shooting, exploring harder boy/girl action, as well as single girl fetish, and great older Buttman scenes. We are doing three updates a week now. (I have so many great scenes with Rocco Siffredi!) Additionally I will be starting to shoot live feeds on Friday April 10th, doing this at least once a month.

Wednesday's updates can be either a new single girl thing from my Stretch Class series or an older Buttman scene that has yet to be put on my site. The member's area now has coming soon trailers: As a feature in the member's section I have added trailers that show the coming updates over the next couple of weeks. It is a feature that I think will help the member to see if he wants to stay a member or cancel.
There is a new join page with new pricing: It should be noted that membership with the Buttman.com site enables someone to be a member of all the Evil Angel sites. We have 30 sites with 3,000 scenes available and we do 35 updates a week. This is I think an incredible value. There is an option of a low monthly charge of $7.95 per month billed one time at $95.40 for a
year, also there is the option for the member to join for just one month for $29.95, non-recurring, so there is no need to hassle with canceling. And finally there is the option to join for $29.95 for the first month, with the recurring billing happening at only $14.95. This will allow the member to enjoy the 35 weekly updates for an extra month or two while paying less.
I hope these new pricing ideas work. I want to give the customer more choice with how he wants to enjoy our stuff.
Finally I am on the Buttman site in the member's area every week answering questions. This will never be someone pretending to me. That is not the way we do things here at Evil Angel.

John Stagliano faces Obscenity Charges
John Stagliano (Evil Angel) has been charged by a federal grand jury with eight obscenity violations stemming from the sale and distribution of adult videos through the mail and the Internet.The indictment handed down today in Washington, D.C. names Stagliano and his companies Evil Angel Productions and John Stagliano Inc. as defendants. The videos cited as "obscene" include Jay Sin's Milk Nymphos, Joey Silvera's Storm Squirters 2 and an online trailer for Belladonna's Fetish Fanatic 5.
Stagliano and his companies are charged with "three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce to sell and distribute DVDs containing obscene films together with a movie trailer in violation of 18 U.S.C. SS 1465; two counts of using a common carrier for the conveyance or delivery of DVDs containing obscene films in interstate commerce in violation of 18 U.S.C. SS 1462; one count of engaging in the business of selling or transferring an obscene film and a movie trailer in violation of 18 U.S.C. SS 1466; one count of using an interactive computer service to display an obscene movie trailer in a manner available to a person under 18 yeas of age, in violation of 47 U.S.C. SS 223 (d); and one count seeking forfeiture of certain assets of the defendants under 18 U.S.C. SS 1467."
When asked for comment, Stagliano's response was calm.
"I don't sell obscenity according to how the law is defined, and I am sure in the end there will be a positive resolution to this," Stagliano told.
"We believe in what we do, so John is absolutely going to stand up for this," added Evil Angel's Karen Stagliano. "This morning he told me that when his name is the copyright holder on every one of those movies it's because he believes in those movies, and he believes in those directors."
Attorney Al Gelbard is representing Stagliano and his companies in the case. Gelbard successfully defended JM Productions head Jeff Steward on similar charges last year.
Pamela Satterfield of the DOJ's Obscenity Prosecution Task Force is prosecuting the case, with support from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
"We haven't been served yet," Gelbard told. "I have not seen the indictment. I spoke with Miss Satterfield this morning at the DOJ. We are making arrangements to exchange the documents and do the surrenders and do the normal beginning stuff that happens in cases like this. And I'm looking at associating necessary co-counsel. I'm not at liberty to discuss who that's going to be yet, but there's a usual list of players. We're very confident. She told me the movies that were charged, though I haven't had a chance to look at them yet, and there's an interesting charge relating to one of the trailers, which raises some interesting constitutional issues, at least in terms of 'taken as a whole.'"
When asked about the specific titles named in the indictment, Karen Stagliano told the company is "completely confident with the content of these movies."
"These movies in particular - everything we make, but especially these movies - it's showing girls having fun doing things that maybe you don't always do in your normal bedroom, but that's kind of the point of porn," she said. "Squirting, and I'm not sure about milk enemas, but squirting has been defended before. They obviously didn't try to pick the hardest thing that they possibly could have picked against the hardest company they were trying to pick."
If convicted, Stagliano faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison on each of the obscenity counts charged under Title 18 U.S.C. and two years on the count charged under Title 47 U.S.C. The two corporations face a maximum penalty of $500,000 in fines per count.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Adult Obscenity Squad based in the Washington, D.C. field office, with assistance from the Los Angeles Police Department.
